Even John-Jacob has his own little story! His mother, Gizmo, was found by John under a boat, half dead. Her mother had run off and left her when the area flooded. A sibling was dead. John rescued Gizmo and took her aboard the boat, where she became his buddy. Well - before we realized what was happening - Gizzy got pregnant!! Since the boat was her home, she gave birth to 4 babies on it. When I saw the yellow striped kitten - he was mine!! When I had my farm, we always had what we called a "John Jacob" cat...yellow like this one. The name came from the children's song "John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt - his name is my name, too...." All our yellow cats were named John-Jacob...or JJ or Jake for short. So now - the boat has a pest control officer named JJ!! He has yet to meet Bijou - looking forward to that day!!
