Since I've acquired the boat - I've gotten inside and cleaned it all up a little - to suit a woman!!!  The engine has been re-built (for you mechanical types: It's a Farryman 6-1/2 hp diesel!) and is back in the boat.  We went to Houston area, found some used sails and sail covers!  They don't all match - but like I said - it's a funky little boat!!  It doesn't need to look like a classic yacht!  We have some fittings on the mast and rigging to be replaced.  As of Oct. 1, she is IN THE WATER - final hook-ups are being done.
Oct. 21, Laurie arrived from New Hampshire, and we set sail on Nov. 14.  By December 1, she was headed back to New Hampshire.

Well - the original plans were to splash the boat  in Rockport, Texas, sail up the coast of Texas along the Intracoastal waterway ("the ditch"), along the coast of Louisiana and down the West coast of Florida to Key West.  We have friends along the way to visit, and are in no hurry.  We will then head to the Bahamas and on to Dominican Republic.

Well, the 'best laid plans of mice and men" are subject to change!!  LIFE is what happens to you while you're making other plans.

I am now sitting alone in Clear Lake, Texas.  At first I thought God would just fly over and drop somebody onto the boat for me to sail off into the sunset with! 

But now, I figure I'm here for some reason that I can't figure out right now!  So I intend to make the best of it and enjoy this experience.  I do have someone who wants me to fly to Jamaica to help sail a boat when HE was stranded by a sailing partner;  have a couple of friends who want to sail with me to Florida in July.  I STILL want to find someone to sail off with me into the sunset - but maybe I'm better off to just try to sell this boat and sail with someone who knows what the hell they are doing with a boat!!!
