This is on another shakedown cruise - my best buddy and me at the helm!!
This is the day we left Rockport - Nov. 14, 1999. Full of fine hopes and dreams, we were ready, we thought, for anything!!
We had to document this!! We were boarded and inspected by the Coast Guard at Port Lavaca!! This was Nov. 15 - the day after we left - and with diesel fuel in the bilge!! Maybe, because I was so happy to be 'official' - and because we had a former Coast Guard Auxiliary member aboard - they passed us!! That piece of paper they gave us came in handy when we were RESCUED by the USCG in Galveston
